A lot has happened since we last updated the blog, so this one may be a little long. Avery started her nasal molding procedure 2 1/2 weeks ago at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale. The left side of her nose was flattened a bit due to the cleft, so the cleft team decided that they would get better results with the plastic surgery if they molded Avery's nose first. The fish hook looking device in her nose and taped to her forehead is stretching the middle part between her nostrils and rounding out the left side of her nose. She does not mind it at all and at the 2 week check up the doctor was very pleased with the results so far.....he high fived Shelley! We drive down to Ft. Lauderdale every 2 weeks until Avery's plastic surgery which is scheduled for August 16th. It's not too bad of a drive and we get to see Gregg and Caitlin while we're there. Speaking of those two........ Avery will officially have another aunt soon......CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!
- Avery is growing and changing so much every day. She smiles all the time and is such a happy baby. She is so alert and curious about everything that she will only take small cat naps during the day because she thinks she'll miss something. But she's generally so happy that none of us mind at all. She looks at you with those big blue eyes and you totally forget what you were supposed to get done that day........being parents is great! We are loving every minute of it.
