Today Tom and I are spending the day with Amy getting her ready to spend a few days in the hospital and then several weeks of recovery time at home. I want to thank Amy's entire family for their help and support throughout the entire pregnancy and especially for the help they will provide in the weeks to come. I also want to thank Amy's friends that will run her daycare over the next several weeks so she can rest and recover from the c-section. Without everyone's support none of this would be possible. The sacrifices that everyone has made are more appreciated than words can express. We are very blessed to have an amazing support system of friends and family.
Tomorrow we will add another member to our family, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention that on Saturday we also added another member to our family. I am very, very happy to announce that my brother, Bill Putnam, married an awesome woman over the weekend......Sarah welcome to the family!!! We all love you and are thrilled to have you as part of the family. Now could you guys move a little closer to Florida so Avery can spend time with her aunt and uncle? :o) No chance of that I know, but we'll make sure we have plenty of visits. When she starts to act like me, which my dad is hoping for as pay-backs (thanks Dad!), we'll send her to Minnesota in the middle of winter to spend time with you guys. She won't think Florida is so bad after that! :o) Bill and Sarah, we hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and we'll see you guys in Florida next week with Avery.
Margaret (my mom) is probably on an airplane back to Florida right now. I know she really wanted to be here to meet Avery for the first time in the hospital, but she also really wanted to make sure that our house was all ready for Avery's arrival. She will be staying at the house with our dogs getting everything in order.....not an easy task for those of you who witnessed the baby shower gift extravaganza. Avery's room is wall-to-wall stuff thanks to all of our friends and family. Thanks Mom for taking on the nursery....we'll see you on Saturday!
I'll post birth details and pictures as soon as I can. Our day will start tomorrow at 0530 for a scheduled c-section and by 0800 we will finally be parents.
